why do companies put their electronic products in very hard to open packages?

every time i buy something, like computer stuff or electronics, the packaging is so hard to open, i have to use a very sharp knife and stuff.. i know it’s for security purposes and it deter shop lifters, but still it’s a big hassle .thanks
haha yeah i know its to stop people stealing but still it’s a big hassle and inconvenience to the customers, the actual people buying the stuff!!

    The only exercise us geeks get is wrestling open those packages bought new cables for my home entertainment system and ended up looking like hulk hogan.

    in 100% agreement on this…also why is it when you buy a kid toy, there is so much tape and twist ties and plastic with that…that is really annoying.
